PM directs Agriculture Minister to develop 'super zones'

Nov 15, 2016- Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Tuesday directed the Agriculture Development Minister Gauri Shankar Chaudhary to develop super zones in seven different districts.
Prime Minister Dahal instructed the Minister to intensify the preparations for the same aimed at inaugurating these super zones within 45 days.
PM Dahal invited Minister Chaudhary at his official residence, Baluwatar, and directed him to develop such zones for increasing agricultural production. He urged to develop super zones for paddy production in Jhapa, fish in Bara, potato in Kavrepalanchok, vegetables in Kaski, maize in Dang, apple in Jumla and wheat in Kailali.
PM Dahal directed to develop such zones in each province aimed at increasing the special production in particular pocket areas.
According to PM's deputy personal secretary Manohari Timilsina, PM Dahal directed Minister Chaudhary to coordinate with concerned bodies in distributing fertilizer, managing irrigation facility and constructing agricultural roads in various regions.
Prime Minister Dahal called for intensifying the programmes for extending different facilities to the public under the pension to people programme and Prime Minister Agriculture Modernization Project.
The PM also pledged to form a peasant commission aimed at increasing production and managing the barren land for cultivation and modernizing the agriculture sector.
On the occasion, Minister Chaudhary assured the PM that he would go for action as per his direction. RSS
