Qatari leader holds talks with British premier
Doha: The Amir of Qatar Shaikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani met with UK Prime Minister Theresa May and discussed regional and international issues, especially the developments in the Middle East region, focussing on the situation in Syria and the need to lift the blockade and end the suffering endured by the Syrian people as well as the need to stop the forced displacement.
The meeting also discussed the issue of terrorism with its serious repercussions and worsening threat to the security and stability of the world, as well as the need to address the causes of this issue on both regional and international levels.
The British Premier said that the visit is an important step in the development of bilateral relations in various fields and looking forwards to advance the future cooperation between the two countries at various levels.
The Amir expressed pleasure at the meeting, pointing out that the Qatari-British relations are strong, strategic and historic, adding that the two countries are tied with joint cooperation in various fields.
The two sides discussed bilateral ties and means to further develop them in the fields of education, research, development, economy and investments in addition to the importance utilizing the investment and trade opportunities to cement the relations between the two nations and achieve their common interests.
