Woman Caught Flipping Off Soldier’s Grave Get’s Backhanded With Instant Retribution
In 2012, Lindsay Stone gained immense notoriety when a photo of her flipping off a sign at Arlington National Cemetery went viral on social media.
The controversial image shows Stone lifting her middle finger to a sign at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier that reads “Silence and Respect.” Shortly after the picture was posted to Facebook, Stone and her coworker were fired from their jobs.
“Lindsey Stone hates the military and hates soldiers who have died in foreign wars,” one comment on the photo read.
“You should rot in hell,” another user commented.
In fact, Stone received so many death threats after the image was posted that she was unable to leave her house for nearly a year after the photo went public. To this day, Stone claims that the photograph has impacted every aspect of her life.
“It was just a spur of the moment, total lapse of judgment,” Stone’s father told the public, although he called his daughter’s actions ‘disgraceful.’
“She wasn’t reacting to the place,” he continued. “She was reacting to the sign and she apologizes to everybody.”
What do you think? Did Stone deserve the backlash she received?
