Hearing on Adhikari's murder case begins


Sep 25, 2016- The District Court Chitwan began hearing on the case relating to the murder of Krishna Prasad Adhikari of Fujel, Gorkha, on Sunday.

Two prosecutors—Maniram Neupane and Uday Chandra Neupane- and 11 advocates on behalf of the defendants have registered their names for the hearings. 

According to Information Officer at the Court, Krishna Prasad Baral, the Court would issue an order for gathering additional evidences if it felt necessary for the same after the completion of hearing, otherwise it would give the final verdict on the case. 

Earlier, record keeper Gehendra Raj Pant recorded the oral statements regarding the case from the victim's mother Ganga Maya Adhikari from the hospital bed and presented it before the court on October 17. 

Krishna Prasad was allegedly kidnapped and murdered by the then Maoist cadres in 2004 as he was in Chitwan to meet his grandparents. 

His father Nanda Prasad had already succumbed to hunger strike staged for the justice of his murdered son while Nanda Prasad's spouse Ganga Maya is under medical observation in capital-based Bir Hospital as she has kept herself away from food seeking the justice to them. 

The main accused in the case is Chhabilal Poudel and he is on the run since the incident. Victim's elder brother Nur Prasad had filed an FIR against 13 people one and half year after the incident had. 

Responding to the FIR, the court on April 17, 2014 had decided to release eight on bail and three on general date. Two have not come to the court contact since the incident. RSS
