Entitled Kaepernick Just Got What He deserved

This past month, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick has been making headlines for refusing to stand for the national anthem before a game. When confronted about his actions, Kaepernick insisted he was protesting “oppression” in the United States.

“I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color,” he said of his protest. “To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder.”

While the 49ers refused to cut Kaepernick from their roster, Team USA hockey coach John Tortorella made it clear that he would handle things very differently if it were up to him.

“If any of my players sit on the bench for the national anthem, they will set there the rest of the game,” Tortorella told reporters.

“When I asked Team USA coach John Tortorella about Kaepernick protest he told me ‘If any of my players sit on…” Linda Cohn tweeted.

Meanwhile, 49ers Coach Chip Kelly has admitted he never even discussed the protest with Kaepernick.

What do you think of Tortorella’s claims?
