‘Take up pending projects in Delhi’
Madhesi parties press Prime Minister Dahal to resolve their concerns before he leaves for India

Sep 14, 2016- Political leaders on Tuesday warned Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal not to make his India visit controversial while leaders of the Madhes-based parties urged him to resolve their issues before leaving for New Delhi.
“The PM has said he will hold talks with the Madhesi leaders at 1pm on Wednesday,” said Anil Jha of the Sanghiya Sadbhawana Party. Jha said the government should also pay attention to the Ramayan and Buddhist Circuits being developed by India.
Sanghiya Samajbadi Forum Nepal leader Ashok Rai said he advised the PM to deal with the issues that directly affect the Madhesi people including inundation and the Hulaki Road in his meetings with the Indian officials.
During the all-party meeting organised in Baluwatar to seek suggestions, most of the parties on Tuesday suggested that the PM should not take up new projects but ensure the implementation of the previous ones signed with India.
Chitra Bahadur KC of Rastriya Janamorcha said he told the PM to improve the relations with India as the southern neighbour was annoyed when the Nepali people promulgated their own constitution last year.
Chief Whip of the RPP-Nepal Dilnath Giri said the PM should inform India that Nepal’s development would never harm any country.
PM Dahal responded that his priority would be for strengthening bilateral ties. He asked the leaders not to be suspicious of his visit as he would only focus on effective implementation of the previously signed projects.
