Fugitive Indian serial killer held from TIA



Accused of murdering 7 Nepalis




Sep 5, 2016- Notorious Indian serial killer Rais Miya aka ‘Mohammad Mustakim’ was arrested from Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu on Sunday. Miya faces seven murder charges—four in Saptari district and three in Sunsari district.

A team of police from Saptari nabbed Miya with the help of TIA police while he was attempting to board a flight by forging a Nepali passport. Saptari police had been searching for Miya.

A native of Madhuwani district in Bihar, India, Miya was temporarily residing in Saraswor VDC of Saptari district.

He was later brought to Saptari and made public at a press conference on Monday.

According to police, Miya has been accused of murdering Sahabud Miya and his daughter-in-law Sagira Khatun in Saptari some four years ago. He has also been charged with the murder of Dulari Devi Sah and Nirmala Devi Sah in the district.

Likewise, according to Saptari police chief SP Bhim Prasad Dhakal, Miya was also involved in the murder of three people of the same family in Inaruwa, Sunsari district.

SP Dhakal informed that the motive behind all the murders was money. He used to obtain loan under various pretexts and later kill the lender then bury the body, said SP Dhakal.

SP Dhakal further informed that he will be charged with murder and forging fake citizenship and passport of Nepal.
